School Board President Bob Soderberg said Raguse “was not just a great coach on the field, but off the field he was a wonderful and caring person.” She also noted the Germantown School Board unanimously supported the request to name the field after Raguse. “Coach Kurt was not only a softball coach, he was also a supporter of all things Germantown,” Dobrowgowski said. During the April 29 ceremony, relatives of Raguse unveiled a sign below the outfield scoreboard designating the field as Kurt Raguse Field. Raguse served as varsity coach from 2011 to 2019. The Germantown softball fields are located just north of Kennedy Middle School, and the ceremony occurred prior to the start of Germantown’s Greater Metro Conference opener against Divine Savior Holy Angels. The Germantown High School varsity softball field was renamed in honor of former Coach Kurt Raguse on April 29.
